Happy Halloween!

Here are my pumpkins, my skeleton pajamas and my princess pirate shirt. I am quite a sight, especially when I dance around. Tonight I am going to be a pirate! Yo, ho, yo, ho, it's a pirate's life for me!

Shakespeare In The Park

I like to be dramatic. It snowed here last night, so these pictures were taken a few weeks ago.

But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief
That thou, her maid, art far more fair than she.

I Am Three!

So, I turned three yesterday, October 22nd. I think it feels good to be three... I have been waiting to be three for like a whole year now.

Anyway, I had a really great birthday and although it was just Mommy and Daddy with me yesterday for my official birthday, I was really happy that I got to see Nai Nai and Poppy, for a pre-birthday get together and then again with Popo and Grandpa Lew a little later. I also received some good wishes (and gifts) from Aunt Jenny and Uncle Don, and from Aunt Karen, Uncle Kevin and Mayson. Plus some more "good wishes" from additional family and friends! I am very lucky to have so many people that love me and I love you all right back.

Right now, my most favorite song (at least for the next five minutes) is One Little Slip from the movie Chicken Little. I like this movie because of the struggle of the little guy trying to overcome obstacles that seem much larger than he is. I enjoy the contrast of the big sky, big pressure from the town, big bullies, versus the little unlikely hero with little body, little confidence, and low expectations who becomes very powerful with his strong friends, unyielding perseverance and enormous heart and compassion. Plus, I also like the part when he steps on the gum.

So here is a video of One Little Slip by the Barenaked Ladies from the movie Chicken Little and then is my version of that song. This is my gift to you for all your good thoughts on my birthday.

The Leaving of the Leaves

I am taking care of all the leaves that have fallen from the trees. I pick them up and put them in my trailer.
I am being very helpful, but the leaves stay in the trailer. I keep telling Mommy that she is NOT to remove them from the trailer. I don't care how full it gets.

Pumpkins, Corn, and Gondolas

This weekend Nai Nai and Poppy came to visit for the weekend. We got lost in a corn maze, shopped for pumpkins, and went for a gondola ride. The weather was great and we had a fabulous time.

Oh, Did I Have Fun!

So I had some fun the other day. We went to the Great Escape for a little fall adventure. Mostly we just hung around,

ate some treats,

met some interesting people,

and drove ourselves crazy.
Wait a minute! Who is driving that car with Daddy?

Oh yeah, that's me. I couldn't see very well so I drove mostly by feel.

We had so much fun it was criminal.

Ha! I crack myself up.

Sunflowers!

Here are some pictures taken a few weeks ago.
I grew some pretty cool sunflowers this year with the seeds Nai Nai gave me.
They were so big I decided to sing a very loud song in honor of them.

Ah, that felt good!

There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow

Hello, this is me singing a song. I sing this song all the time unless someone is watching me. So for Mommy to be able to record this, is a rare treat. I may have been emboldened by the orange poffee-skull (popsicle) I had earlier. You can see some traces of that orange poffee-skull on my lips and cheek. It really was a delicious poffee-skull.

Oh yeah, sometimes I skip parts of the song. I do that to keep it interesting.

There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow,

Shining at the end of every day.

There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow,

And tomorrow's just a dream away.

Man has a dream and that's the start.

He follows his dream with mind and heart,

And when it becomes a reality,

It's a dream come true for you and me.

So there's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow,

Shining at the end of every day.

There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow,

Just a dream away.

Happy Anniversary

Hello! This is Janet (Mommy) and I have managed to get Harper's sticky little paws away from the computer and her chat rooms and online gambling (ha ha) long enough to wish Dan a Happy Anniversary. We were married ten years ago today. I also think that this month makes it 18 years since we first met. We have now known each other longer than we haven't.

So Dan, this is my gift to you. (Remember you said no gifts because we were saving money, just wanted to remind you... unless of course you have a gift for me and in that case let me get my keys, I will be back in 35 minutes. Kidding!) You are the chips to my salsa, the cheese to my macaroni, and the gravy on my fries (remember walking down to Nector's on the weekends freshman year?) I am hungry now. Anyway, I can't imagine my life without you. Neither of us are sappy, nor are we overly sentimental, but I picture our life as perhaps a romantic comedy. Well, the comedy at least.

I love you, Dan.

Click here for a little retrospective look into our relationship. Happy Anniversary!

*Just a quick note to let you all know that yes, we take too many pictures, yes our hair is scary at times, and yes, as embarrassing as it may be, I wouldn't change it for the world. xxoo
