Snow!

On Friday we watched it snow over 12 inches here and it is snowing again today. Another 12 inches has been forecast for today. Even though we are all feeling under the weather (Ha!), I convinced my parents that a little time playing in the snow was necessary to make me feel better. With more snow coming today, I am going to have to use my powers of persuasion to get them out in the snow again... well convincing my mom is the hard part, my dad always loves to play in the snow.

The Polar Express

Yesterday I had the chance to ride on the Polar Express! It left from Burlington and went to the North Pole. We were served hot chocolate and cookies and believe it or not, it only took 20 minutes to get there and the train stations look very similar...
All the children wore pajamas and we were greeted by elves when we arrived at the North Pole. We were read a story about the Polar Express and then we met Santa!
I was very excited about meeting Santa. I did my 'happy dance', ran right up to him, turned around and said, "Cheese!" so Daddy could take my picture. After my picture with Santa, Mrs. Claus gave me my very own sleigh bell. It was quite a day.

Not Quite A Traditional Christmas Carol

Yes, it is Ring of Fire, by Johnny Cash. For whatever reason it seems that it is all I am singing lately... Weird.

My Trip To NYC

I found myself in New York City on Sunday. It was chilly and crowded and fun! I went to the Central Park Zoo, FAO Schwarz, Rockefeller Center and saw a lot of pretty cool stuff. I ate a pretzel, sang to Santa Claus, played on a giant piano and I also fell asleep on the way home. It was great!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Sorry for lack of pictures, but Mayson and I are just too quick. We played together and did all kinds of crazy, fun stuff and for that I am truly thankful.
I hope everyone had a safe, peaceful, delicious Thanksgiving.

Tagged?!?

Ok, I've been tagged by Casey, and since this is my first tagging... here we go.

The Rules:
1. Grab the nearest book
2. Open it to page 56
3. Find the 5th sentence
4.Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with instructions
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book or the most intellectual - Pick the CLOSEST
.

The closest book to me at the moment is, The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo.

On page 56, the 5th sentence reads...

"And this time, he did not whisper the word."

I was reading this book to determine if the story was something Harper would be interested in since there is a movie version of the book is being released on December 19th.

I enjoyed the book, but there were certainly some parts that seemed... uncomfortable? at times. However, Despereaux Tilling is charming and a most unlikely hero. And without hardship and an almost insurmountable task, how can an unlikely hero be triumphant?

Plus, I have seen the trailer and Despereaux is super cute.

Now for the tagging.

I tag Karen and Ruby.

Nipper Smickleifigus

Try JibJab Sendables® eCards today!

Hello, my Christmas elf name is Nipper Smickleifigus. I know we haven't had Thanksgiving yet, but Thanksgiving is late this year.

We have seen other families elf themselves and they were hilarious. We decided to do it, too.

If you and your family decide to elf-out, please share it with us. We would love to see it.

Merry almost Christmas!

*update- Here is the link to elf yourself.

Here is the link to the elf name generator.

Daddy was Jolly Smickleifigus and Mommy was Batty Smickleifigus... not nearly as fun as Nipper!

I Love It!

So, here I am surfing the web, looking at my favorite blogs and I came across one of my new favorites... Birdie and the Queen Bee. I love this blog because it shows GREAT photos of my best friend from China. Em and I became fast friends and so did our parents as they jostled us all across China and home again. Anyway, here I am looking at this blog and I was scrolling through the pictures when I saw a picture of us together in China and a nice story about our parents. It was like a blast from the past. I loved it.

I miss them a lot and Em and I are going to figure out a way to get everyone together again soon. It is a great blog so I highly recommend checking it out.

Good times.
